Theme song, now with correct lyrics!
So, it seems, thanks to everybody in the community that comments, and my mom and sister, I have the entire theme song lyrics.

Regarding "famous," I seem to hear an "s" at the end of the word. My mom and my sister definitely hear "aim" in it and say it is either "famous" or "Fame - ed." The majority does not agree with "fabled."

Gather round ye brave young knights
To hear this famous story
Adventures of the square table
And of dragon glory
In Camelhot
In the court of King Allfire
We must confess we do our best
To hide the queen's spare tire

We're dragons and we're proud to say
We fight for honor and we don't get paid
When a damsel's in distress
You can bet we're at our best
Blazing dragons
We will save the day

We swear to uphold the code of the square table
We're straight and true and good and kind
And we're very good at knitting

Spoken: That doesn't rhyme! That's okay! We're gonna sing it anyway!

We're dragons and we're proud to say
Life is good under King Allfire's reign
When the paw of duty calls
Dragons one and all
Blazing dragons
We will save the day!

Theme song?
Are these the correct lyrics to the theme song?

Gather round ye brave young knights
To hear this famous story
Adventures of the square table
And of dragon glory
In Camelhot
In court of King Allfire
We must confess we do our best
To hide the queen's vagina

We're dragons and we're proud to say
We fight for honor and we don't get paid
When a damsel's in distress
You can bet we're at our best
Blazing dragons
We will save the day

We swear to uphold the code of the square table
We're straight and true and good and kind
And we're very good at knitting

Spoken:That's mine! That's okay! We're gonna sing it anyway!

We're dragons and we're proud to say
Life is full under King Allfire's reign
When the (missing word here) of duty calls
Dragons one and all
Blazing dragons
We will save the day!

Does anybody know the missing word?

Wikia?
I've decided to give a try for applying for a Blazing Dragons wikia. http://requests.wikia.com/index.php?title=Blazingdragons

Would anyone here be interested in editing this? I think it'd be really fun to expand on that meager Wikipedia article and to give every character, even the minor ones, their own articles. I think it'd be a fantastic treasurehunt to snap photos of the really minor one-shot characters too. ~~~~

Just keeping everyone up to date...
I've been working on a series of anime-style stories at the request of a friend. I figured that rather than my usual 10,000 words or more stories, I would keep these short. Each one is about 3,000 words long, which I believe is much easier to read in a single sitting. Staring at text on a computer screen for more than half an hour is certainly not fun! The series is titled "Onward to China!" It is more of a freestyle series, as it barley follows the cartoon at all. Right now, I have three chapters uploaded. Here is the link.

Blazing Dragons Stories
Hi, everybody!

I'm sure many of you will be happy about this. I have been working on some Blazing Dragons stories, and I have completed two. There are sure to be more on the way. My first one, "For the Love of a Princess," is a dramatic story about how Flame and Flicker get together. My second one, "The League of Knights," has nothing to do with the first one. It is actually the beginning of a hilarious series, and I believe that this one follows the cartoon's style much more closely. However, it is about 8,300 words long, and it took up 20 pages in Word. Here are the links. Enjoy!

Blazing Dragons Episodes
It's me again...

The short story is that I was bored, so I went to Amazon.com. After typing in several pointless things, I typed in "Blazing Dragons." To my amazement, I discovered an entry in which you could download any episode from the show for a scant $1.99! Still to rich for my blood though... I mean, if you were to download all the episodes, it would come out to around $52.00! That's not including taxes and whatnot. Also, I don't know if these are complete, uncut episodes, and in all likelihood, they are not. They won't be DVD quality either. I would buy one or two, but you need to install the Unbox Video Player to get them to work, which of course is not compatible with my Macintosh. Go figure. Personally, I would rather be patient and wait until Thanksgiving when I can get a copy of THE complete and uncut set! I don't think any download could come close to that.

Peace out!

Blazing Dragons
Hello!

I have been visiting this community frequently, and I finally decided to join it. I must say that I'm quite new to these online journal... things, so I'm not sure that I know exactly what I am doing.

Well, I have been a avid fan of Blazing Dragons since I first watched it in 2000 or so. However, Toon Disney took it off the air, and I thought that the show had basically died. Every once in a while, I would look up everything that I could about the show on the internet, and I would turn up nothing. It was only a couple of weeks ago that I stumbled across this community, and I want to say that I am extremely happy to see that Blazing Dragons has been all but forgotten. I also watched some of the episodes on YouTube, and it was amazing to see them again after all these years. Some of the things I remembered were spot-on, and others were way off. I also plan to write some BD stories as well, but I suffer from chronic lack of time, so I will write whenever I can.

That's all I have to say for now.

Thank you all!

"Stepmother Griddle"
Watching the 'tube series the first episode over reminded me that Queen Griddle is actually Flame's stepmother... I think she's Blaze's mother right? Anyway, what happened to Flame's mother could be a source of drama I guess. Like if one were to do a serious fanfic.

On the other hand, that utterly destroys my previous theory, though I guess Allfire might have had a THIRD wife, who knows. You know those dragons and their mistresses. In this one manga I'm reading 'MeruPuri' apparently royalty has dozens.

Just because
hey all,

Haven't said or done anything here in almost a month.

In all honesty I really don't have much to say. There are really only 2 things left for me to actually do/ accomplish and those being the website based around Blazing Dragons and the story I have started....and haven't really touched in a VERY long time :$

I've finally moved back to college meaning that I have free time again, and lots of it for the time being. I plan to fall back into the routine of writing and whatnot also continuation of what I am going to do with the website. Again, don't expect it to be up and running for a while.

Oh there was another bit of news I'd like to share, a random picture that has popped up on the internet. It's a little overt to say the least but it's actually got more of a positive spin to it than anything else. After the initial O_o! from the picture I took a look at all the comments under it and how many people say they actually remember the show and whatnot. So it's good to know that some people have seen it before :P

Also this person started putting up the episodes of Blazing Dragons on YouTube. I think he has 3 done. While I'm not 100% for this idea, I can't and won't try to do anything to stop it, as the positive side is that people will be able to see it again from all over the world. Honestly the only reason I'm not for it is the link back to Nelvana, as they would think I did, but with no proof and the simple fact I didn't even do it, would halt anything anyway.

I hope every one is doing well, and yes I know exactly who did the picture and put up the episodes XD

DVDs take 2
hola all,

Just a quick mention that I will be sending out this next wave of DVD's tomorrow...which means people in the US should be receiving them Thursday or Friday and People over in the UK should be getting them within the next 2 weeks. From previous attempts it took 12 days to get there, and that was also during your postal strike.

Also I'm in the middle of working on 2 BD related things. One is a summer related art thinging...a.k.a. I'm drawing something...I think it's cute...er...awesome anyway, and the other being those stories. Lots to juggle at the moment. I'll keep you updated as always

So...don't get too angry...
Hey gang,

It's been quite a while since I wrote something here...very uncharacteristic of myself actually, but anyway...

My little bout of "devistation" is well past and over with concerning the Nelvana letter. A bunch of things dawned on me and to put things short, I am lucky I got anything at all. So better to look on the brighter side of things.

Otherwise I have been very busy and prominant on a certain item that has come into my posession...

I have been talking to someone named "Shotking". We got to talking about this and that and he mentioned a long while ago that he saw some one on Ebay was selling the entire Blazing Dragons Series Episodes on Ebay. What was so special about them? They are the ONLY studio cut set in existance...meaning: NO CUTS, ALL THE EPISODES, AND GREAT QUALITY, STRAIGHT FROM NELVANA (even came in the Nelvana boxes). He didn't buy them back then because they were going for an incredibly high sum of money.

We ended up, collectively, agreeing that we needed to obtain that set, no matter how ludacrous the cost. So after he did a lot of scrambling, he managed to track the owner, of the set, down and thankfully she still had the set and was willing to sell them to us. Unfortunately her price never relenquished. But I didn't care. We agreed to go halfs and we ended up getting the set.

I got them over the weekend, and let's just say...WOW. Seriously. It was a long end to a journey to finally see it all, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. I ended up transfering the VHS to DVDs and sent a set back over to him.

Which brings me to the people that have already received episodes from me...the cut, incomplete set :(

In my gut I knew I should have waited just a little bit longer before offering them out...but at the same time I didn't find out about the set until 3 weeks after I mailed you all :(

I am willing to send out this complete and unmolested set of episodes back out to the original people (And anyone living in the USA, that really enjoyed the show, I STRONGLY SUGGEST that you think about this. The cuts were THAT GOOD.) {well in my opinion anyway}. Basically they slaughtered Sir Blaze's character by cutting almost a good 30% of his lines, and they actually took out a lot of GOOD jokes. Like actual jokes that made me laugh or do one of those, "whhhhhaaaatttt??!!" As you didn't see it coming, because you didn't think the show was capible of that kind of humor. I can finally see the strong connection between the game and the cartoon because of them...

Now for the hard part. Obtaining the episodes hit my checkbook hard, so I can't just send them out again. I think what I am going to do is IF THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE I SENT THEM TO IN THE United States, ARE INTERESTED, I WILL SEND THEM FREE. But unfortunately for anyone new, I'd have to charge about $5. And People over in England, I'd have to charge you as well :(   (something around $10-15 {5 to 7.5 pounds}

I hate doing it, and truly do, but again, that set was EXPENSIVE, and I don't have the kind of money to resend all of them for free.

But Please do consider. This is THEE SET. The ultimate. The quality you would see on an actual DVD set. And you really are a fan, I really, really, really, suggest you getting them.

*cough*

Also about the Website. Don't expect it up and running anytime soon. I will be organizing everything, EVERYTHING, on paper and design first before I even THINK about buying the site. The more complete I have it organized the easier and efficient the transfer will be when I start hosting. Also any and all ideas are welcomed for anything you would like to have on the site.

Anyway, last thing. After giving much thought and consideration, I WILL BE continuing my written story, but WILL NOT be continuing the comic episodes. If anything I will still do drawings for the stories and post them along with it. Kinda childish "Picture Story Book" type of thing, but It's always a nice break to have an image in there. This, not only takes the strain and pressure off my working constantly on the episodes (100 pictures per, to something like 5-10) but it allows me to spend much more time on the quality and blah blah blah. Who cares right? I'll just give you the link when I get there ;)

I'll be starting that back up soon and hopefully will have "Breach Pt II" with in the next 2 weeks.

Sorry for the lenght, and cudos if you read the whole thing ^^

Nelvana Finally got back to me
It's true, after 6 long months of fighting to keep their attention, has finally come to an end. They finally emailed me back and well....

...read for yourself....

Dear Marc,

Thank you for your proposal with respect to Blazing Dragons.  I
apologize for the delay in responding to you.  I have been quite busy
with other licensing and rights analysis matters lately, and have only
recently had an opportunity to review your proposal.

I have the following comments:

The Internet Site:

We have no objection to you creating and maintaining a website that is
intended to be in the spirit of a not for profit "Fan Appreciation Site"
for the Blazing Dragons television series.  The use of series name,
episode titles and numbers, character names, setting descriptions, and
episode summaries is fine.

Screen captures from the series are fine too, provided they do not
include the logo or "watermark" of a broadcaster.  You have indicated
that you are able to edit the screen captures in your possession so that
the "Toon Disney" logo is removed.  We would insist that you do so.

We cannot, however, authorize the use of audio files, downloadable
paraphernalia, and streaming video of the show.  There are significant
issues associated with such use.  First, additional payments would be
owed to the music and voice talent from the series under ACTRA, SOCAN,
and other collecting societies and performers guilds in connection with
such use.  Second, there are many broadcast and home entertainment
licenses of the Blazing Dragons series currently in place worldwide, and
any internet streaming/downloading of the series authorized by Nelvana
would put Nelvana in breach of the exclusivity provisions contained in
most of those agreements.  And third, Blazing Dragons (as you know) was
a co-production between Nelvana Limited and Ellipse Animation S.N.C.,
and Ellipse controls all rights in the series in many countries around
the world.  As the internet is a world wide network, even if there
weren't any exclusivity restrictions with respect to existing broadcast
licenses, Nelvana is simply not in a position to be able to authorize
the exploitation of the series on a world wide basis (other than the
promotional use of still images).

The Web Comic:

What you have proposed falls into a rights category that is referred to
as "merchandise licensing".  Although the "merchandise" in this instance
is strictly digital and only exists in cyberspace, the spirit of a comic
book is a publishing right.  While Nelvana does control merchandise
licensing rights in the series, the same territorial restrictions with
Ellipse as noted above would still exist, so we have that at issue.
And, merchandise licensing is something that typically commands a
significant license fee if such rights are to be exploited.  We don't
believe (unless we are mistaken) you are interested in paying for the
right to develop a web comic, so we must respectfully decline your
proposal to produce the same.

In summary then, we have no objection to your proposal to create a fan
appreciation site provided you adhere to the restrictions we have noted
above.  If in our opinion the content of your website violates any of
the restrictions set out in this e-mail, or is in our sole opinion
derogatory of the property or offensive in any way, we reserve the right
to serve you with a notice of takedown.  It is our hope and belief that
your intentions are respectful of the series, and that you would not do
or permit anything on your website that would dishonour the Blazing
Dragons property in any way.

If I can be of any further assistance in this matter please feel free to
contact me.

Kind regards,
Scott Lawrence
Contract Manager/Rights Analyst - Nelvana Limited

....so how do I feel...

I'm actually devistated...I honestly thought it was going to be the reverse...I thought they would have allowed the comic and denied the site...

Shows how much I know...

So now I have all that project....and all that planning, future plans, for absolutely nothing. I invested so much into it, and I've been shot down. I should have been smarter in my planning and organization before I went through all this.

I could keep with the story...but my heart has taken quite the hit.

I'm hoping this feeling is temporary.

Anyway, I've got a website to plan. Any ideas?

First Story is finally posted
Yup that first story (you know the ones I was talking about way back when) is finally up and posted...took me forever to set things up correctly...

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3638832/1/

EDIT: silly me...forgot to link it. It's linked now...

It's very late so I don't have things all check out so it might not work right now. But I hate the lay out over there...I like indents and whatnot and pretty whatevers I put in it.

So just incase that doesn't work then
I'm warning you. It's long...very long!

Read time 22-25 minutes. Words: 5,070

Oh and all the US DVD shipments should be delivered...if not let me know. England people, wait until next week Thursday before becoming paranoid.

Still nothing from Nelvana

DVD's
Just to let the people know that those episodes are now officially in the mail and are on their way. Expect them in 7-10 business days. It actually was very cheap in comparison to what I thought it was going to be, so that worked out wonderfully.

I just hope I got everything right and put the correct number of DVD's in each envelope O_o

I was being kind of rushed this morning as I was scrambling to get it all together before I had to come into work today, but I'm almost positive that everything is all good to go. Here's hoping anyway.

Also I just thought of something...those stories. I ended up adding another 2 pages last night and puts me to 11 pages right now...only problem is I am 33/110 of the way through this first story and the reading time is already up to 22 minutes...

Would anyone be completely frustrated to read a 30 page 70 minute fan fiction??? Because that is what it looks like it's going to be if I keep the same pace and writing that i am going at now...well maybe like 25 pages at 50 minutes. Is that too long for one fanfiction? Should I split it up into 2 parts perhaps?

All I know is that it's a biggie. And it's only the first part. There are still 9 more chapters to this beginning.
Well if nothing else it will kill an hour of your time everytime you read it right?

Also Dave should be talking to Mr. Lawrence for me today from Nelvana...let's see if he actually does it.

But the main part is that the episodes are in the mail so be on the look out for them.

yayness!

Bonjour!

I've got a lot of good news for everyone...well enough anyway...

I just got all the burned DVD's from my friend today which means I will be sending them out tomorrow...(or at least I think the post office is open tomorrow..maybe? I don't know...) If it isn't then it will be Monday instead. I decided I will just send all for DVD's in their Jewel cases and call that good enough unless I find something for a case. Expect them in 7-10 business days...so after next week sometime.

I have to say I'm a little bit embarrased and frustrated at myself...turns out I had the capability to burn DVD's the whole time...I had no idea that I had a burner right in my laptop...stupid on my part :P

I reestablished communications with Nelvana again after oh so long. Even though it is with the original rep that I was talking to way back in the day, he promised me he will talk to the big guy in charge to see where it stands. Basically what I got out of that email was they basically just forgot O_o    Well, just as long as they remember, I will be fine. I just want to know one way or another so I can either get started on stuff, or find my free time just open up.

Lastly those STORIES...you know the ones I said I would have written for you what... last weekend? or was it the one before that...anyway what kept me from really sitting down and doing those was free time and the lack their of. I was preparing for a music concert I had today (which went wonderfully I might add) but now my time has really opened up and I can concentrate on these instead.

I almost finished the first one and and will just jump into the second one. I'm having fun writing them, I hope you will take some joy in reading them.

I think that is all for now...OH...about me getting those episode screen shots up and about, give me a couple more days to dish them out somewhere and then you can have as many of them as you would like.

That's all. It's been a good day for me :)   Hope it's been just as well for you.

Just to let you know
Bonjour,

just thought I'd let you know a couple things. For those that are getting those episodes, afriad I've hit another small wall. apparently during the burning only half of the "original" (my version) of the episodes worked and burned, which means that only half are done right now.

Don't worry though, I have the files on my computer so my friend will just burn directly from there and I can get them out to you hopefully sometime soon. But you know me and complications seem to go hand in hand nowadays. So you just never know.

Also I should mention that I am getting further in writing those fan fiction stories. Although I am far from done with the first episode, I do have 5 pages down to where I actually like them...but I am only up to slide 10 of 110 from that 1st chapter. <x_x> Yeah, my old writing style has finally kicked in again though. I tend to jump around from the character's perception as thing are happening around them...using the 3rd person omniscient narrative to its complete fullness. In other words the reading will be bouncing around a lot. Just a style I have always liked I guess. I've been told I'm that bad at it either.

I just hope people are still interested in it. Or anything else I am trying to accomplish for that matter. I'm actually afraid that, if people haven't already, but will stray off once they get the episodes. But whatever, whatever.

Nelvana. What do I do about you? They haven't said a thing to me in a month and a half. I have sent them little reminders and whatnot, not hoping for an answer, but rather A RESPONSE. I'll try one last time...going to my original representative, hoping he can tell me something reassuring. Gah. I just want to do all these things, but find myself with a lid above my head.

OPEN THE DAMN JAR WOULD YA?
